Hi Ciara, welcome to iCabbi! how are your first few weeks going? So far, so good! Everyone is helpful and friendly, plus Sutton is such a beautiful area with lovely scenery and walks, which is a real bonus.
How did you come across iCabbi and the role you are in here? Due to a relocation in my previous role the commute was too much. I came across the spec for the role at iCabbi and I was instantly intrigued.
What is your background and how will it help in your new role with iCabbi? I started in IT as a QA which to this day I believe stands to me. As I did not have a formal educational background in IT, I decided to return to college and study computer science. I gained exposure to the different roles I could potentially pursue and at this point I decided that my strengths were best suited to Product. I have had two previous Business Analyst roles which have been fantastic and taught me so much. I am always learning and growing and so I believe I will get as much from this role as I put in.
Why did you choose iCabbi as your next career move? iCabbi is a relatively young company and as I researched the story behind the company, I was both intrigued and very impressed. I have never worked in a company of this size or age so I decided it was a great opportunity to try something new.
What is the best thing about being part of a product team as opposed to any other area of the business?Product is creative and I like that side of it. I enjoy researching and gathering the right requirements. Best of all I get to work closely and collaborate with other teams including engineering and design on a daily basis which I really enjoy.
What are your thoughts on the recent 120 jobs announcement in iCabbi? The buzz in the office is infectious. This is a really exciting time for the company. The future of iCabbi looks bright and I am delighted to be on board for the journey.
What are you most looking forward to in your role? There is a talented team here at iCabbi and I am looking forward to growing with them. I am also excited to meet the new talent that will be joining the team in coming weeks and months.
What are you most likely to be doing when not in the office? I try to go to the gym or go walking in my free time as I like to keep fit. I also have a 1 year old cat called Henry so it is nice to spend some time with him as he is pretty hilarious.
