Let’s talk customers. We reckon they’re our most valuable asset. Our customers’ co-operation and input helps us to develop and improve the services we offer.

And they also provide the backbone of future referrals.

Sure, we could talk about ourselves all day, but hearing positive results direct from our clients themselves is the easiest way to see how much of a difference we can make to your business.

Thinking about automation as a solution? We’ve got some compelling case studies below from global taxi companies that might just help you make up your mind if you’re thinking about making a move.

Skyline Taxis, Milton Keynes and Northampton, England

Skyline Taxis
has been working with us since the start of 2015. Director, Gav Sokhi, says that, “[iCabbi has helped us] develop and implement systems that have transformed our business – and our customers’ experience with us.

“Our customers can use the app to track the arrival of their driver, split the fare with a friend, share their location and see the driver’s picture, name and license number before he or she arrives.”

These customer benefits can help your taxi business to stand out from the competition, and quickly make it the preferred choice. The ease and convenience of our technology sets it apart – because it benefits your business and your customers.

But it’s not just the improved customer experience that gives us the edge: it’s how our technology allows for expansion. Skyline had been primarily based in Milton Keynes in the UK, and is now expanding rapidly into other areas.

“We considered expanding into Northampton years ago,” says Gav. “But our software and systems held us back. Now, through this technology, we can spread our wings and share our great service, not only with the people of Northampton but those situated in the rural areas between Milton Keynes and Northampton.

This decision to expand and offer a better service to more people in other areas was the subject of an important court ruling, which Skyline won.

“I’m immensely proud of what we have achieved and I’m genuinely excited about our future – and iCabbi is a large part of that,” Gav says.

Blueline Taxis, Newcastle upon Tyne, England

Delivering the highest quality service to customers is at the heart of every successful company – and it’s particularly important to taxi companies, who live and die by their clients.

For Blueline Taxis, an automated dispatch system has been crucial to its continued development.

“Because of our involvement with iCabbi, we have a greater sense of where our business is going,” explains Ben Bell from Blueline Taxis. “We can see the areas where we’re strong, and where we need to improve too. iCabbi has allowed us to make investments in expansion and in our future.”

Of course, it’s not just about Blueline itself, but the benefit that all this extra functionality brings to its customers as well.

“We like the fact that our customers are kept up-to-date when they book a taxi,” enthuses Ben. “If we tell them that their car will arrive in 25 minutes – then every minute it goes over that is a danger for us.

“We don’t want them to complain that we’re late. iCabbi lets our dispatch centre constantly keep an eye on our cars’ locations so that when we tell a customer ‘your cab is on the way’, we aren’t guessing. If they have the app, they can see every step of the journey themselves.”

For Ben and Blueline Taxis, our experience and customer support comes to the fore too.

“That’s something I’d emphasise,” says Ben. “We work with iCabbi. They are always at the end of the phone. Even in terms of bouncing general ideas that we might have off them, they’re great for advice and letting us know what’s coming down the line.”

Intercity Private Hire, Stoke-On-Trent and Staffordshire, England

For Intercity Private Hire, the ability to signpost future developments in the taxi industry was one of the most important factors in choosing an automated taxi system.

“The promise of regular updates definitely played a part in our decision,” says Malcolm Beardmore, Managing Director of Intercity Private Hire. “Standing still in this industry isn’t an option. iCabbi’s steady stream of updates and new features will keep us at the forefront for many years to come. As a company that is constantly competing for more work and for drivers to grow our business, it’s very important that our operators, drivers and customers see new features coming through.”

Customer satisfaction is vital to a taxi company’s success, but so too is the happiness of its drivers, a point that Malcolm is keen to make.

“The driver app was another major influence in our decision-making,” Malcolm explains. “Having features like the fare calculator, driver-to-customer calling, and ‘my jobs’ was very important. As we have quite a large account customer base, it was important that iCabbi dealt with this very efficiently with minimal effort from the jobs being booked to the emailing of the invoices.”

Blue & White Taxi, Minneapolis, United States

For
Blue & White Taxi, a new dispatch system wasn’t initially on the cards.

“We already had a dispatch system that worked,” explains Waleed Sonbol, the firm’s General Manager. “We were looking for a whole new way of doing business – for new possibilities and for changes that would allow us to do all the things we wanted but more importantly, to do all the things our customers wanted.”

However, Waleed was swayed when he saw how streamlined and efficient the system is. “With our old system, we had servers, phone lines, circuits, towers, radio frequency – too many factors in one system,” he says. “There was a high risk that any one of those could interrupt our business. It was important that we simplify the process and minimise the risks to our business.”

Those are not the only reasons he was impressed. “The ability to allow staff to work from home or from different cities was also a requirement. Sometimes we need people who can work during our rush hours, so three hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon. We decided early on that the system needed to offer the flexibility and freedom to ramp up staff numbers whenever or wherever needed,” Waleed says.

“We soon began to hear about iCabbi from other taxicab companies. The platform was innovative. We had a list of things we wanted, and by the end of their presentation, we’d managed to tick off everything we wanted – and even added a few things we didn’t even think were possible.”
