Blueline Taxis, Newcastle upon Tyne, England

“We like the fact that our customers are kept up-to-date when they book a taxi,” enthuses Ben. “If we tell them that their car will arrive in 25 minutes – then every minute it goes over that is a danger for us.

“We don’t want them to complain that we’re late. iCabbi lets our dispatch centre constantly keep an eye on our cars’ locations so that when we tell a customer ‘your cab is on the way’, we aren’t guessing. If they have the app, they can see every step of the journey themselves.”

For Ben and Blueline Taxis, our experience and customer support comes to the fore too.

“That’s something I’d emphasise,” says Ben. “We work with iCabbi. They are always at the end of the phone. Even in terms of bouncing general ideas that we might have off them, they’re great for advice and letting us know what’s coming down the line.”

As we have quite a large account customer base, it was important that iCabbi dealt with this very efficiently with minimal effort from the jobs being booked to the emailing of the invoices.”

Blue & White Taxi, a new dispatch system wasn’t initially on the cards.

“We already had a dispatch system that worked,” explains Waleed Sonbol, the firm’s General Manager. “We were looking for a whole new way of doing business – for new possibilities and for changes that would allow us to do all the things we wanted but more importantly, to do all the things our customers wanted.”

However, Waleed was swayed when he saw how streamlined and efficient the system is. “With our old system, we had servers, phone lines, circuits, towers, radio frequency – too many factors in one system,” he says. “There was a high risk that any one of those could interrupt our business. It was important that we simplify the process and minimise the risks to our business.”

Those are not the only reasons he was impressed. “The ability to allow staff to work from home or from different cities was also a requirement. Sometimes we need people who can work during our rush hours, so three hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon. We decided early on that the system needed to offer the flexibility and freedom to ramp up staff numbers whenever or wherever needed,” Waleed says.

“We soon began to hear about iCabbi from other taxicab companies. The platform was innovative. We had a list of things we wanted, and by the end of their presentation, we’d managed to tick off everything we wanted – and even added a few things we didn’t even think were possible.”
