Blue & White Taxi, Minneapolis, United States
For Blue & White Taxi, a new dispatch system wasn’t initially on the cards.
“We already had a dispatch system that worked,” explains Waleed Sonbol, the firm’s General Manager. “We were looking for a whole new way of doing business – for new possibilities and for changes that would allow us to do all the things we wanted but more importantly, to do all the things our customers wanted.”
However, Waleed was swayed when he saw how streamlined and efficient the system is. “With our old system, we had servers, phone lines, circuits, towers, radio frequency – too many factors in one system,” he says. “There was a high risk that any one of those could interrupt our business. It was important that we simplify the process and minimise the risks to our business.”
Those are not the only reasons he was impressed. “The ability to allow staff to work from home or from different cities was also a requirement. Sometimes we need people who can work during our rush hours, so three hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon. We decided early on that the system needed to offer the flexibility and freedom to ramp up staff numbers whenever or wherever needed,” Waleed says.
